Ag Education Programs

Ten Things Kids Want to Know About Farming

Grades 4-6, 45 minutes --- A 22-minute video features kids asking farmers questions, and taking them on a virtual field trip to farms around the country.  Students learn fundamental concepts of agriculture, like what a tractor is used for, where does milk come from, and how big is an acre?

Farm Facts

Grades 4-8,   30 - minutes ---
Students will learn about the business of farming and gain appreciation for the role agriculture plays in their life.  This program uses lessons, charts, and graphs from the Farm Facts book highlighting biotechnology, trade, efficiency in agriculture, and consumer awareness.

Faces of Agriculture

Grades 3-6,   30 minutes ---
One out of every five jobs in Kansas is related to agriculture, from production to service and financial to marketing.  This program exposes students to the many careers available in the food and fiber system.

Farming is More than Food

Grades 1-5,    30 minutes ---
Of course farmers grow our food, but did you know they grow fuel, candles, aspirin, jello, golf tees, and thousands of other products we use everyday? This program lets students match crops grown in Kansas to the products made from them.   Also includes the fun ag trivia wheel: Get in the Game.
