Biotechnology
Information, background and
policy
Farm Bureau
policy at both the state and national levels
clearly supports conventional and organic
farming, as well as the use of biotechnology.
We believe that advancements in biotechnology
can ease environmental concerns, raise farmer
income by lowering costs, improve the overall
quality and quantity of farm products and
improve marketability. We also believe that
farmers who want to share in these benefits can
co-exist with those farmers who choose to
produce crops without the use of biotechnology.
As the use
of biotechnology increases in the U.S. and
around the world, a healthy dialogue regarding
their benefits and the importance of responsible
use of biotechnology in agriculture is vital.
The links below provide information to assist
members as they consider the impact of
biotechnology both on their farm and the world.
