10th District Director Linda Franklin
Linda Franklin, a native of Goodland, serves Kansas Farm Bureau
as a board member representing the organization’s tenth district of northwestern
Kansas. The tenth district comprises Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Graham, Logan,
Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas and Wallace county Farm Bureaus.
As a KFB board member, Franklin will offer leadership and
guidance for the nearly 40,000 members of Farm Bureau in Kansas. Along with her
husband, Gerald, the Franklin family manages a diversified operation, which
includes irrigated and dryland wheat, corn, grain sorghum, soybeans and
sunflowers.
Franklin’s Farm Bureau experience includes six years on the
Sherman County FB board, three years on the KFB policy-proposing Resolutions
Committee and two years on the Voters Organized to Elect Farm Bureau Friends
(VOTE FBF) board.
Linda graduated cum laude from Kansas State University with a
bachelor’s degree in computer science. Post graduation Franklin worked at
Western Electric for four years, Occidental Petroleum for one, K-MAR 105 for
three then part-time at the local Farm Service Agency office.
Locally, Franklin is active on the Sherman County executive
council, United Methodist church, 4-H and her local school site council. The
Franklins were also honored as members of the 2003 class of Master Farmer/Master
Farm Homemakers.
Linda and Gerald are the parents of three adult children, Kyle,
Sarah and Timothy. |
