What kinds of projects are funded?

KFB Foundation for Agriculture grants will be considered for the following programs:
 

1) Agriculture educational programs for key segments of the urban, suburban and rural population, e.g., children, adults, teachers and retirees to improve their perceptions and increase their understanding of agriculture and its importance in their lives and to our economy
 

2) Agriculture leadership programs for key segments of the urban, suburban and rural population, e.g., youth and adults to improve their leadership skills and involvement in leadership to benefit agriculture and rural communities
 

3) Scholarships for agriculture education and leadership development programs.

 

What types of requests are ineligible?

  • Administrative or overhead costs and meals
  • Activities that are promotional rather than educational in nature, e.g. advertising (unless advertising the activity), sponsorships, county fairs, non-farm safety programs, signage, prizes, giveaways, travel
  • Activities or programs that do not advance the KFB Foundation for Agriculture's goals

Applicants that have applied for 2nd half grants will be notified by June 1, 2010.  Funds will be distributed upon completion of the granted purpose once a 2010 Grant Activity Report is completed and returned to the KFB Foundation for Agriculture no later than December 1, 2010
