2009 Carbon Credit Meeting Schedule

A series of informational meetings on carbon credits for Kansas farmers and landowners will be held throughout the state.

The Kansas Farm Bureau has partnered with Iowa's AgraGate Climate Credits Corp. in presenting the meetings. Steve Swaffar, director of the bureau's natural resources, will present the information.

The meetings will provide information on how farmers and ranchers can earn income from no-till crop production, planting new grass and specific rangeland management.

The first of seven meetings is Jan. 23 in the Neosho County Courthouse basement in Erie. It starts at 10:30 a.m.

The other six meetings are:

10 a.m., Jan. 30 at the Butler County Farm Bureau office, 341 N. Main, El Dorado;

9:30 a.m., Feb. 2, Santa Fe Depot, 504 Market, Osage City;

1:30 p.m., Feb. 2, Celebration Hall, Franklin County Fairgrounds, 220 W. 17th, Ottawa;

9:30 a.m., Feb. 11, Kendall State Bank, 406 Broadway, Valley Falls;

10:30 a.m., Feb. 20, 4-H building, 900 Greeley Ave., Salina;

3 p.m., Feb. 20, Cloud County Community College, 631 Caroline Ave., Junction City.
