USDA Secretary Vilsack names Henry to committee

Kansas Farm Bureau recently nominated Kansan Dalton Henry to serve on a national agriculture committee.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has now announced the appointment of Henry to the Advisory Committee on Beginning Farmers and Ranchers. The Committee will advise the Secretary on ways to develop programs to provide coordinated assistance to beginning farmers and ranchers while maximizing new farming and ranching opportunities.

Henry served as Student Body President at K-State and graduated in May with a degree in Ag Communications and Journalism, emphasizing in Ag Economics.  Henry is currently the Government Affairs and Membership Coordinator for Kansas Wheat. During his time at Kansas State he was a charter member of K-State’s Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter, and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity while serving as a College of Agriculture Senator.  Henry was a national finalist in the 2009 AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers Discussion Meet in San Antonio, Texas.
