   Above Ground Storage Tank Regulations

The Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office, Fire Prevention Division, has developed the Above Ground Tank Program.  Farmers and ranchers with above ground storage tanks must acquire a permit from the state of Kansas.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also has rules.  While mostly for commercial operations, the EPA rules are affecting some farmers and ranchers.  Both sets of regulations/guidelines should be reviewed.

The links below are a breakdown of the programs and regulations for above ground tanks.  All program documents are in PDF format.
