How to ensure your love of agriculture can make a
lasting difference John Shostak
We are
proud to honor those Farm Bureau members whose love of
agriculture inspired them to support the Kansas Farm
Bureau Foundation for Agriculture with a
planned gift. Their contributions are one
of many ways that will help make a lasting, positive
difference in Kansas agriculture.
Permanently Endowed Funds
By
creating permanently endowed funds, Farm Bureau members
who make major gift donations not only provide the
financial support necessary to implement programs that
are beneficial to the long term success of Kansas
agriculture but also make sure the member’s desired
long-term goals remain a priority for generations to
come.
A couple
of examples of permanently endowed funds that Farm
Bureau members have created include:
·
A Scholarship Fund that provides an
annual scholarship to help an agriculture student attain
a degree in agriculture economics at Kansas State
University.
·
A Scholarship Fund that provides an
annual scholarship to an agriculture
student who’s major is in an area of study which
contributes to the development of environmentally
friendly farming techniques and processes.
·
An Agriculture Education
Fund designed to support programs and
activities that support the general promotion of farming
practices that are friendly to the environment.
Donors
to these funds also have the opportunity to name the
fund either as a tribute to or in memory of a beloved
family member or friend.
While a
major gift has the advantage of providing an immediate
benefit, sometimes making a major gift is not a
practical option. As a result, Farm Bureau members can
also provide enduring financial support by naming the
KFB Foundation for Agriculture as a beneficiary in their
will, trust, life insurance
or annuity contract, retirement plan, and investment or
bank account. The process is quick and easy. We
recommend that you discuss these options with your
professional advisors.
Proper name and charitable status:
Important information for your professional advisors
The proper name to use for a beneficiary
designation in a will, trust, life insurance or annuity
contract, retirement plan, and investment or bank
account is, "The KFB Foundations, Inc." The KFB
Foundations is a tax-exempt organization under
Section170 of the Internal Revenue Code and accompanying
regulations.
Your
love of agriculture and its unique lifestyle can and
will make a lasting difference, and become a tribute to
your awareness and understanding of the value
agriculture brings to the world. We appreciate the
magnitude of the decisions you're making at this time,
and we value your support as well. Thank you for your
consideration and support of our
mission and agriculture education and
leadership development programs.
