KANSAS JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW

KFB YF&R State Committee served breakfast to 650 exhibitors, attendees, and livestock judging team members during the 2009 Kansas Junior Livestock Show.  The Young Farmers & Ranchers also used the opportunity to promote KFB, including Kailey’s Ag Adventures book series.

The YF&R State Committee, along with KFB board members Helen Norris and Craig Stephenson, spent an afternoon packing more than 1,500 packages of food for the Food 4 Kids backpack program.  The program provides a weekend food packet to nearly 5,000 Kansas kids in 273 schools statewide.

Kansas Food Bank President & CEO Brian Walker gave a tour of the facilities to the Kansas Farm Bureau team who spent the afternoon at the food bank.  (Brian in the one in the white button-down shirt).
