KFB Provides Accurate Agriculture Information

Kansas Farm Bureau is passionate about providing accurate information about agriculture. That's why we’ve produced a series of accurate ag books for youth that include lesson plans, fun fact sheets and much more. We also have lesson plans divided by grade levels to teach about agriculture in Kansas. Our goal is to educate folks on the origin of their food, fiber and fuel so they understand the importance of agriculture in their lives.

So far this year the KFB ag education manager has reached more than 4,000 people during presentations at South Step Fridays at the Kansas Capitol and at the National Agriculture Hall of Fame. She has also provided lesson plans to teachers from across the state during hands-on trainings for teachers, including "Be Ag-Wise", a professional development train-the-trainer workshop. Thousands more are reached with the help of motivated volunteers, who present educational activities in schools, fairs and anywhere teachers gather.

Staff have also filmed a video detailing our ag education resources for pre-service teachers attending class at Kansas State University.

A lot of work goes into this effort because KFB believes everyone should have an understanding of where their food comes from.
