Background Information

Education

I'm a product of strong rural public schools, attending in the district that covered the small town I grew up in. I graduated with a degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Missouri, and was the first college graduate in my family. 

Work Experience

Prior to running for office for the first time, I worked at Sprint for 12 years as a mid-level executive. I recruited, trained, and managed large teams. I designed and implemented budgets larger than the budget of the State of Kansas. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have worked outside of the legislative session as a substitute teacher.
