Kansas State University Scholarships (4 @ $1,000)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be enrolled in Agriculture or closely related area of study
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall
  • Deadline: March 1

Lester Crandall Memorial Scholarships (2 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be classified as a senior at Ellsworth High School
    • Student must be planning to enroll in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University and to major in an agriculture-related field of study
  • Deadline: March 1

Funding

A gift has been made by the friends and family of Lester Crandall to the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture to establish these scholarships at Kansas State University. Its purpose is to honor the late Lester Crandall by providing financial assistance to students graduating from Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Kansas and enrolling in the College of Agriculture with a major in an agriculture-related field of study.



DeWitt Ahlerich Memorial Scholarship (1 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas 
    • Student must be enrolled in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University
    • Student must be majoring in agricultural economics
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall semester
  • Deadline: March 1

Funding

A gift was made by the Ahlerich family to the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture to establish this scholarship at Kansas State University. Its purpose is to honor the late Dewitt Ahlerich and provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the College of Agriculture and majoring in agricultural economics.


Godfrey & Emma Bahr-Miller Memorial Scholarship (1 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas 
    • Student must be enrolled in an accredited university or college in Kansas
    • Student must be majoring in a field of study contributing to the development of environmentally friendly farming processes
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall
  • Deadline: March 1

Funding

The Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture received a gift from Emma Bahr-Miller to honor her husband the late Godfrey Miller by establishing this scholarship. As a farmer he understood the role of farmers and ranchers in caring for the land they work and manage.


Frank & Helen Bernasek Memorial Scholarship (1 @ $1,000)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be enrolled in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall semester
  • Deadline: March 1

Funding

A gift was made by the Bernasek family to the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture to establish this scholarship at Kansas State University. Its purpose is to honor the late Frank and Helen Bernasek and provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the College of Agriculture.


 


Agricultural Communications & Journalism Scholarship (1 @ $1,000)

The ACJ scholarship is available to K-State students studying agricultural communications and journalism. The ACJ scholarship will help create professionals who tell the story of agriculture and the environment to consumers, legislators and other key stakeholders.

    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be enrolled in the Agricultural Communications and Journalism program at KSU
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall
  • Deadline: March 1

Fort Hays State University Scholarships (2 @ $1,000)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be enrolled in Agriculture or closely related area of study
    • Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall
  • Deadline: March 1

Technical School Scholarships (8 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Student or parents must be Farm Bureau member in Kansas
    • Student must be enrolled in Agriculture or closely related area of study
    • Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited technical school in Kansas
  • Deadline: March 1

Michael J. Berntsen Memorial Scholarship (1 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Applicant must be from a family residing in Southeast Kansas with preference to Allen County
    • Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited vocational or technical education institution in Kansas
    • Applicant must have evidence of contributions in community service and volunteerism
    • Applicant must provide resume as part of the application process. (Completion of the scholarship application fulfills this requirement)
    • Applicant must send a thank you letter to the Benefactor
  • Deadline: March 1

Funding

A gift was made by Theresa and Joseph Berntsen to the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture to establish this scholarship at any vocational or technical education institution in Kansas. Its purpose is to honor their late son Michael J. Berntsen and provide financial assistance to students.

Michael was a big kid at heart that truly enjoyed helping anyone when the opportunity presented itself.

Collegiate Farm Bureau Scholarships (24 @ $500)

  • Eligibility
    • Student must have a current Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter membership* (Due to this requirement, this scholarship is not open to high school seniors)
      • * Selection preference given to students whose parent(s) are Farm Bureau members
    • Students must plan to enroll in the fall semester at a Kansas college that has a chartered Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter
    • Student must be majoring in an agricultural or related field of study to be used in agricultural career
  • Deadline: March 1


Family members of KFB Foundation board members are not eligible to apply for scholarships.

  • The 8th District of Kansas Farm Bureau "Excellence in Agriculture" Scholarship

    • The 8th District scholarship is open to applicants or parents/guardians of the applicant that are current County Farm Bureau Association member in good standing of Clark, Edwards, Ford, Gray, Hodgeman, Lane, Meade, Ness, Pawnee, Rush, and Scott Counties.
    • The deadline for the 8th District Scholarship is April 1, 2024
  • The 9th District of Kansas Farm Bureau Scholarship

    • The 9th District scholarship is open to applicants or parents/guardians of the applicant that are current County Farm Bureau Association member in good standing of Finney, Grant, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Kearny, Morton, Seward, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita Counties.
    • The deadline for the 9th District Scholarship is 5pm March 1, 2024
